Camp B'nai Brith of Ottawa's Medical/Health Centre is staffed by licensed medical professionals on-site throughout the summer. Our Health Centre is fully stocked with medical supplies to ensure that most camper ailments can be dealt with on-site. All medications, except inhalers, are kept in the Health Centre and dispensed at meals and before bed. The camp is only 17 minutes from the nearest hospital in Shawville, Quebec, and less than an hour away from the renowned Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) if additional medical treatment is required.
Hand sanitizers are placed on every table for use during all meals and can also be found in all camp buildings where group activities are held.
Safety and protective equipment (i.e. baseball helmets, life jackets, etc.) is provided by the camp and required to be worn at appropriate sporting activities. For our junior campers, staff ensure that sunscreen is applied regularly and hats worn to protect your children from the sun.
All camp buildings and cabins are equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
