CBB is breaking ground on a new multi-purpose gymnasium this month!

To our CBB Family, 

In 2015, we asked our community to make a dream come true… Generous CBB friends answered the call and the dream of a new multi-functional state-of-the-art facility began to grow.

Since then, we’ve been working steadily to bring this dream to life. It’s been a long 5 years in the making, but the time is finally here and we are beyond excited to share this exciting announcement with you.

CBB is breaking ground on a new multi-purpose gymnasium this month! 

With CBB’s steady growth, our current gym is not big enough to hold the entire camp, especially during all-camp programming. With the onset of Covid-19, the need for more space became even more pressing. Fortunately, we’ve been raising capital funds since 2015 and are ready to design and build a large in-door multi-functional facility in time for this summer! 

The next time you walk down CBB’s main path, your eyes will pop and your jaws will drop, because this new build is sure to exceed your expectations.

This modern, spacious facility increases the sports area by 10%. Its new sport court floor system will replace the old concrete floor. The building’s bigger footprint includes space for programming, sports, arts, storage, and, we have dedicated an entire space for a fitness centre for our staff, which has been a prime topic of discussion for many years. On top of all that, its modern fan technology will dramatically reduce airborne disease transmission, creating a safer environment for our campers and staff. 

So now, the time is finally here for us to say goodbye to the nostalgic blue and pink gymnasium, which was generously donated by the Loeb Family in 1967. Although we are incredibly sad to see the cotton candy gym go, welcoming more campers into CBB creates a bright future for our Jewish community and this new facility makes that possible.

But still, if you are like us, you might be worried that you won’t ever see that pink and blue building again…
