PROGRAMMING TEAM
Program Director – Tommy Friedlich
Head of Special Events – Aaron ‘Jeezy’ Clarke
Aaron is so excited to return to camp as the Head of Special Events for Summer 2023. Better known in camp as Jeezy, this will be his 15th summer at CBBO. Outside of camp, he has graduated from Brock University and is currently pursuing post-graduate studies. After being the Head of B-Boys in 2021, and the Head of Staff/Camper Engagement in 2022, Jeezy knows what it takes to get the people hyped up. He is looking forward to assisting the leadership team, supervisors, staff, and campers in their day-to-day lives, as well as cooking up some new ideas for CBB’s renowned special events. Keep your eyes peeled for Jeezy’s new weekly show, Jeezy & Friends – which will introduce this summer’s stacked crew of supervisors!
Programming Supervisor – Gabby Natovitch
Gabby is super excited to be involved in the programming team this summer! She started her time at CBBO as an A-Girl in 2011, making this her 12th summer! Gabby has previously worked with the B-Girl unit, as staff, Assistant Head, and most recently, Unit Head in Summer 2022. Gabby is from Toronto but is currently living in London, Ontario, studying business at Ivey Business School at Western University. Gabby’s favourite activities at camp are snatch the balloon, Israeli dancing, and getting to meet so many amazing people! Gabby cannot wait to come back to her favourite place and help create some amazing programs for everyone!
CAMPER CARE TEAM
Assistant Head of Camper Care – Vanesa Curutchet
Vanesa has a passion for supporting youth and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Camper Care Team! For the past 7 years, she has been supporting adults/teens and children in her private practice as a Naturopathic Doctor and Ayurvedic Practitioner who specializes in psychological-emotional well-being. She also has 20 years of experience as a director in the wellness industry leading teams. Vanesa has learned through her dedication to human well-being to trust her intuition and create a safe space for those who need care and wellness. She is very excited to be at camp this year for the first time and looks forward to being a member of the CBBO mishpocha.
Camper Care Supervisor – Stef Ages
Stef is originally from Ottawa, but is currently in her final year studying Commerce at Queen’s University in Kingston and will be starting work in accounting in the fall. This upcoming summer will be her 12th as after taking a one-summer hiatus from camp she is ready to be back in her happy place! After being an A-girl Staff, a Senior Girl staff, and Head of A-girls, Stef is super excited to return as part of the camper care team this summer! She is ready to bring her past experiences and new ideas to make more unforgettable memories! Stef hopes both the staff and campers are as ready as she is for the most amazing summer yet!
Camper Care Supervisor – Justin Poplove
Justin is originally from Ottawa, Ontario, and is currently in his 3rd year studying life sciences at Queens University, in Kingston. From starting his camp journey as a second-year Junior in 2010, he is super excited to return for his Bar Mitzvah summer (number 13!) in this new leadership role on camper care. Justin’s favourite camp activities include water skiing, canoeing, snatch the balloon, football, and Shabbat. After spending three summers on A-Boys, with his past summer as supervisor of the unit, Justin is prepared to take his past experience and craft one of the most memorable and eventful summers ever. Everyone should start getting pumped for a summer they will never forget!
Camper Care Supervisor – Jacklyn Friedberg
Jacklyn is from Montreal and is currently in her second year of university, majoring in Chemistry at Concordia. She is so excited to spend her summer at CBBO again! Since she started as a first-year B-girl, she has loved the activities, excitement, and community at camp, and this will be her 10th year. After spending three years on A-girls as a staff and supervisor, she is very eager to take on a new leadership role in camper care! Jacklyn is most excited to meet new campers and make incredible and fun memories for summer 2023!
UNIT HEADS
Head of Juniors – Daniel Fishko
Daniel, born in Montreal, is currently studying for his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at McGill University. This will be his third summer at CBB, and he has spent the last two summers as a staff on Juniors. Daniel’s favourite activities at camp are Waterfront, CBBOlympics, and Egg Drop. This summer, Daniel can’t wait to come back and make amazing memories with the Junior Staff and Campers.

Head of Senior Girls – Jill Goldenberg
Jill can’t wait to experience her first summer at CBB as Head of Senior Girls! Born and raised in Montreal, Jill attended Dawson College in the social science program, and she is now in her second year at Carleton University, in the hopes of pursuing law. Outside of camp, Jill works as a photographer for a portrait studio and as a concert photographer for a music magazine. Most importantly, she is counting down the minutes to meeting everyone and making unforgettable memories!!
Head of Senior Boys – Garner Ross
Garner, born and raised in Montreal, is in his 2nd year of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University. This will be his 9th summer at camp. He was a B-Boy Co-Head last year and he cannot wait to bring back his energy as the Senior Boy supervisor this year! Garner is a jack-of-all-trades type of guy but mainly specializes in all different sports. His favourite ones are football, basketball, and golf! As a former staff of the year, he cannot wait to make more memories with the Senior Boys this year!
Head of Pathfinder Girls – Lindsay Hayes
Lindsay is so excited to return to CBB as Head of Pathfinder Girls. Born and raised in Montreal, she attends McGill University working on a degree in Education. This will be her 9th summer at CBB. When she’s not spending time with her campers, Lindsay’s favourite activities include hanging out at the waterfront, at A&C, or at the pool. As A-girl staff in 2021 and as Assistant Head of B-Girls in 2022, Lindsay is excited to make the move to senior camp and plan incredible activities for the PC girls of Summer 2023!
Head of Pathfinder Boys – Avi Korman
Avi is going into his 9th year at CBB and this will be his third year working with the PC unit! He started coming to camp in 2014 and has been there every year since! His favourite camp activities are CBBOlympics and basketball. Avi is pursuing accounting at McGill University, but is counting down the days until summer 2023 is here!
Head of CITs – Brianna Goldstein
Brianna is beyond excited for her 11th summer at CBBO! After having an awesome summer last year as the Head of Senior Girls, she is eager and ready to take charge as the Head of CITs! Brianna grew up in Toronto, Ontario, but is currently living in Montreal and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at McGill University. If it’s Friday, you’re sure to find Brianna dancing to Bachalil, Golden Boy, and all our other camp favourites! Brianna is most excited to bond with her campers and to have the best summer ever!!
SPECIALTY HEADS
Head of Waterfront – Samantha Tanner
Samantha is excited to return to camp as the Head of Waterfront. Ever since she was an A girl, the beach, especially wakeboarding, has been her favourite camp activity. After spending most of her CIT summer on ski/wake, two years as a ski/wake staff and head of the program, she’s ready to run the beach for the second time and ensure campers have the most fantastic time at the best place in camp. When not at camp, Samantha is pursuing a commerce degree at Concordia University and growing her social media business, but forever dreaming about being at camp. After finishing her semester abroad, she can’t wait to return to her happy place and share her passion for the waterfront with the campers this summer. With her fantastic group of staff, she knows this will be the best summer yet!
Assistant Head of Waterfront – Molly Tanner
Molly is excited to return to CBB for her twelfth summer and first in a supervisory role. When Molly stood up on a wakeboard for the first time as a junior girl, she knew the beach was the best place to be! All her time at the beach accounts for most of her favourite camp memories. After spending two summers as a ski staff, she’s excited to take on the role of Assistant Head of the Waterfront. When not at camp, Molly is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and social entrepreneurship at McGill university. She looks forward to providing all of our campers with a special summer and memories that will last a lifetime. Summer 2023, here we come!
Head of Waterski: Ski Instruction – Jacqueline Lisbona
Jacqueline (Jac) was born and raised in Montreal and is currently studying Journalism at Concordia University. After 11 summers at camp, Jacqueline is SO EXCITED to be living her A-Girl dream as head of Waterski! After spending most of her CIT summer on ski/wakeboard and the past two years as a ski staff, Jac is beyond excited to take on this new role in camp. She is looking forward to being back at her favourite place with her favourite people and, of course, meeting new faces. She hopes that everyone will fall in love with water sports the same way she has!
Head of Waterski: Boat Maintenance & Operations – Jesse Dym
Jesse Dym, a skilled water skier and co-supervisor of CBB Ottawa’s waterskiing program, brings 11 years of experience at the camp and is currently pursuing an accounting degree at Concordia’s JMSB. His passion for waterskiing started when he was a young camper, and he has since spent countless hours on the river perfecting his skills. Jesse is dedicated to ensuring that all campers and staff have a blast and create unforgettable memories on the beach. Join him and the rest of the ski staff for a summer on the water you’ll never forget!
Head of Sail – Jonah Sohmer
Returning for his 11th summer at CBBO, Jonah is super excited to be running the sailing program! After working on the beach for the past 2 summers as a waterski staff, he is ready to take on the challenge of mastering one of the other beach specialties. Jonah is currently midway through his aerospace engineering degree at Carleton University, and is looking to apply his problem-solving mindset to make this summer the best one yet! Jonah can’t wait to return to the beach once again, and is excited to share his love for camp with everybody this summer!
Head of Canoe – Taylor Ages
Taylor is so excited for her 11th summer at camp as Head of Canoe! As a 3rd generation camper at CBBO, Taylor can’t wait to share her enthusiasm for the waterfront activities. Taylor was born in Ottawa and is currently in her second year of her bachelor’s of Civil Engineering at McGill University. Taylor has been a canoe counsellor for the past two summers and looks forward to spending all day in the sun sharing her love for canoeing and many other water sports!
Head of Swim – Phoebe Orr
This is Phoebe’s first summer at CBBO, coming all the way from Australia this year. She’s excited to be a part of the community and experience the adventure of camp. Phoebe has taught swimming for 5 years and feels delighted to share her knowledge and warmth with all the children and staff. She’s ready to make new friends and support those learning valuable water skills. Phoebe finished her studies recently, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. She plans to continue her studies after camp. Phoebe looks forward to embracing the camp experience!
Head of Landsports – Dylan Merovitz
Dylan is super excited to return to CBBO for his 9th summer to take on the role of Head of Landsports! He is from Montreal and is currently finishing his first year studying Marketing at McGill University. As a camper, he always loved landsports and tennis periods, but he also loved participating in all-camp events such as CBBOlympics and Colour War! Dylan is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing sports such as baseball, football, tennis, golf, and basketball. After 2 summers away from CBBO, he returned to camp last summer as a Pathfinder Boys staff and loved creating new connections with his campers and co-staff. As Head of Landsports this summer, Dylan will be able to fulfill his passion of motivating campers to improve their skills and helping them discover a passion for sports. He is counting down the days until campers will be able to enjoy the best specialty in camp!
Head of Tennis – Mathew Comiskey
Mathew is all the way from Scotland, he is in his third year at Dundee University and this is his first year at camp. Mathew is an experienced tennis coach who is excited to bring new ideas, games, and energy to CBB of Ottawa. As a first-timer at Camp, Mathew can’t wait to meet new friends, make amazing memories, and share his enthusiasm for tennis & fitness to give the campers the best, most fun summer possible. Greatest Weakness? The sun. This is something rarely seen in Scotland and Mathew will need at least half a bottle of sun cream a day in order to survive.
Head of Martial Arts – Theo Jones
Theo is travelling from Manchester England for his very first summer at CBB and is excited to get started as head of a new program at camp – Martial Arts! He graduated in Music from Birmingham University last summer and loves sharing and creating music with others. He hopes to get involved in all of the camp’s activities and festivities as well as share his passion for martial arts, in which he has six years of experience coaching and competing in various styles. Theo cannot wait to provide a different experience for campers this year!
